For this apartment with a classical design with small rooms from the eighties, the client’s wish was to acquire a larger, open central space which would enable communication between the living room, dining room and the kitchen. By rearranging the walls, we have made a new space with a modern design. The bathroom has got a completely new image, liberated of all the machines; it has become larger, habitable. The long hallway has a walk-in closet and, consequently, the bedroom has become bigger and more pleasant.
The space is marked by interlacing light and the dark. Flooring, made of American walnut in a dark brown tone, gives a good basis to the lacquered mediapan furniture in a sand colour. For contrasting purposes only, in some places, individual elements occur in the colour of American walnut. Wallpaper and textiles give the room the final touch.
